  1. And he said to them: This is my blood of the new testament, which shall be shed for many.

  2. And they gave him to drink wine mingled with myrrh. But he took it not.

  3. For he shall be great before the Lord and shall drink no wine nor strong drink: and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb.

  10. And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him and offering him vinegar,

  11. And the wine failing, the mother of Jesus saith to him: They have no wine.

  12. And when the chief steward had tasted the water made wine and knew not whence it was, but the waiters knew who had drawn the water: the chief steward calleth the bridegroom,

  13. And saith to him: Every man at first setteth forth good wine, and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse. But thou hast kept the good wine until now.

  14. The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying: How can this man give us his flesh to eat?

  15. Then Jesus said to them: Amen, amen, I say unto you: except you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you shall not have life in you.

  16. He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood hath everlasting life: and I will raise him up in the last day.

  17. For my flesh is meat indeed: and my blood is drink indeed.

  18. Now there was a vessel set there, full of vinegar. And they, putting a sponge full of vinegar about hyssop, put it to his mouth.

  19. It is good not to eat flesh and not to drink wine: nor any thing whereby thy brother is offended or scandalized or made weak.

  20. And be not drunk with wine, wherein is luxury: but be ye filled with the Holy Spirit,

  21. Do not still drink water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thy frequent infirmities.

  22. The aged women, in like manner, in holy attire, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teaching well:

  23. With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication. And they who inhabit the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her whoredom.

  24. Because all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication: and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her; And the merchants of the earth have been made rich by the power of her delicacies.

  25. And cinnamon and odours and ointment and frankincense and wine and oil and fine flour and wheat and beasts and sheep and horses and chariots: and slaves and souls of men.
