  1. And I will come to you in judgment, and will be a speedy witness against sorcerers, and adulterers, and false swearers, and them that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widows, and the fatherless: and oppress the stranger, and have not feared me, saith the Lord of hosts.

  2. For I also am a man subject to authority, having under me soldiers; and I say to this, Go, and he goeth, and to another Come, and he cometh, and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

  11. And shall begin to strike his fellow servants and shall eat and drink with drunkards:

  12. The lord of that servant shall come in a day that he hopeth not and at an hour that he knoweth not:

  13. And forthwith he called them. And leaving their father Zebedee in the ship with his hired men, they followed him.

  14. And some began to spit on him and to cover his face and to buffet him and to say unto him: Prophesy. And the servants struck him with the palms their hands.

  15. And in the same house, remain, eating and drinking such things as they have: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Remove not from house to house.

  16. And returning to himself, he said: How many hired servants in my father's house abound with bread, and I here perish with hunger!

  17. He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in that which is greater: and he that is unjust in that which is little is unjust also in that which is greater.

  18. If then you have not been faithful in the unjust mammon, who will trust you with that which is the true?

  19. And if you have not been faithful in that which is another's, who will give you that which is your own?

  20. And it came to pass that he returned, having received the kingdom: and he commanded his servants to be called, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading,

  21. And the first came saying: Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds.

  22. And the second came, saying: Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds.

  23. For which is greater, he that sitteth at table or he that serveth? Is not he that sitteth at table? But I am in the midst of you, as he that serveth.

  24. But the hireling and he that is not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming and leaveth the sheep and flieth: and the wolf casteth and scattereth the sheep,

  25. And the hireling flieth, because he is a hireling: and he hath no care for the sheep.
