  1. And Ephraim said: But yet I am become rich, I have found me an idol: all my labours shall not find me the iniquity that I have committed.

  13. And behold one came and said to him: Good master, what good shall I do that I may have life everlasting?

  14. Who said to him: Why askest thou me concerning good? One is good, God. But if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

  15. He said to him: Which? And Jesus said: Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness.

  16. Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

  17. The young man saith to him: All these have I kept from my youth, what is yet wanting to me?

  18. Jesus saith to him: If thou wilt be perfect, go sell what thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.

  19. And when the young man had heard this word, he went away sad: for he had great possessions.

  20. And he saith to him: Friend, how camest thou in hither not having on a wedding garment? But he was silent.

  21. Then the king said to the waiters: Bind his hands and feet, and cast him into the exterior darkness. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

  22. Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; because you make clean the outside of the cup and of the dish, but within you are full of rapine and uncleanness.

  23. Thou blind Pharisee, first make clean the inside of the cup and of the dish, that the outside may become clean.

  24. Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; because you are like to whited sepulchres, which outwardly appear to men beautiful but within are full of dead men's bones and of all filthiness.

  25. So you also outwardly indeed appear to men just: but inwardly you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
