  1. And did all eat the same spiritual food:

  2. And all drank the same spiritual drink: (And they drank of the spiritual rock that followed them: and the rock was Christ.)

  3. But with most of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the desert.

  4. Now these things were done in a figure of us, that we should not covet evil things, as they also coveted.

  5. Neither become ye idolaters, as some of them, as it is written: The people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play.

  6. Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them that committed fornication: and there fell in one day three and twenty thousand.

  7. Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them tempted and perished by the serpent.

  8. Neither do you murmur, as some of them murmured and were destroyed by the destroyer.

  9. Now all these things happened to them in figure: and they are written for our correction, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

  10. Wherefore, he that thinketh himself to stand, let him take heed lest he fall.

  11. Let no temptation take hold on you, but such as is human. And God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that which you are able: but will make also with temptation issue, that you may be able to bear it.

  12. For I fear lest perhaps, when I come, I shall not find you such as I would, and that I shall be found by you such as you would not. Lest perhaps contentions, envyings, animosities, dissensions, detractions, whisperings, swellings, seditions, be among you.

  13. Lest again, when I come, God humble me among you: and I mourn many of them that sinned before and have not done penance for the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness that they have committed.

  14. I wonder that you are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ, unto another gospel.

  15. Which is not another: only there are some that trouble you and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

  16. But now, after that you have known God, or rather are known by God: how turn you again to the weak and needy elements which you desire to serve again?

  17. You observe days and months and times, and years.

  18. I am afraid of you, lest perhaps I have laboured in vain among you.

  19. O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding the profane novelties of words and oppositions of knowledge falsely so called.

  20. Which some promising, have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.

  21. Take heed, brethren, lest perhaps there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, to depart from the living God.

  22. But exhort one another every day, whilst it is called to day, that none of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

  23. Of whom we have much to say and hard to be intelligibly uttered: because you are become weak to hear.

  24. For whereas for the time you ought to be masters, you have need to be taught again what are the first elements of the words of God: and you are become such as have need of milk and not of strong meat.

  25. For it is impossible for those who were once illuminated, have tasted also the heavenly gift and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
