Abraham

For not through the law was the promise to Abraham or to his seed, that he should be heir of the world: but through the justice of faith.

Therefore is it of faith, that according to grace the promise might be firm to all the seed: not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all,

Neither are all they that are the seed of Abraham, children: but in Isaac shall thy seed be called.

I say then: Hath God cast away his people? God forbid! For I also am an Israelite of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.

They are Hebrews: so am I. They are Israelites: so am I. They are the seed of Abraham: so am I.

As it is written: Abraham believed God: and it was reputed to him unto justice.

Know ye, therefore, that they who are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.

And the scripture, foreseeing that God justifieth the Gentiles by faith, told unto Abraham before: In thee shall all nations be blessed.

Therefore, they that are of faith shall be blessed with faithful Abraham.

That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Christ Jesus: that we may receive the promise of the Spirit by faith.

To Abraham were the promises made and to his seed. He saith not: And to his seeds as of many. But as of one: And to thy seed, which is Christ.

For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise. But God gave it to Abraham by promise.

And if you be Christ's, then are you the seed of Abraham, heirs according to the promise.

For it is written that Abraham had two sons: the one by a bondwoman and the other by a free woman.

For nowhere doth he take hold of the angels: but of the seed of Abraham he taketh hold.

For God making promises to Abraham, because he had no one greater by whom he might swear, swore by himself,

For this Melchisedech was king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him:

To whom also Abraham divided the tithes of all: who first indeed by interpretation is king of justice: and then also king of Salem, that is, king of peace:

Now consider how great this man is, to whom also Abraham the patriarch gave tithes out of the principal things.

And indeed they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is to say, of their brethren: though they themselves also came out of the loins of Abraham.

But he, whose pedigree is not numbered among them, received tithes of Abraham and blessed him that had the promises.

And (as it may be said) even Levi who received tithes paid tithes in Abraham:

By faith he that is called Abraham obeyed to go out into a place which he was to receive for an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing whither he went.

By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,

Was not Abraham our father justified by works, offering up Isaac his son upon the altar?
