  1. The word of ADONAI came to me:

  2. "Here is what ADONAI the God of Isra'el says: 'I will regard the exiles from Y'hudah, whom I sent away from this place to the land of the Kasdim, as good, just as I do these good figs.

  3. "'I will look after them for their good, I will bring them back to this land; I will build them up and not tear them down, plant them and not pull them up.

  4. I will give them a heart to know me that I am ADONAI. They will be my people, and I will be their God; for they will return to me with all their heart.'

  6. But those who can discern will shine like the brightness of heaven's dome, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever.

  7. I will be like dew to Isra'el; he will blossom like a lily and strike roots like the L'vanon.

  8. His branches will spread out, his beauty be like an olive tree and his fragrance like the L'vanon.

  9. Again they will live in his shade and raise grain; they will blossom like a vine, and its aroma will be like the wine of the L'vanon.

  10. Then the remnant of Ya'akov, surrounded by many peoples, will be like dew from ADONAI, like showers on the grass, which doesn't wait for a man or expect anything from mortals.

  11. The remnant of Ya'akov among the nations, surrounded by many peoples, will be like a lion among forest animals, like a young lion among flocks of sheep - if it passes through, tramples and tears to pieces, there is no one to rescue them.

  12. On that day ADONAI their God will save them as the flock of his people; for they will be like gems in a crown, sparkling over his countryside.

  13. "They will be mine," says ADONAI-Tzva'ot, "on the day when I compose my own special treasure. I will spare them as a man spares his own son who serves him.

  14. But to you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings; and you will break out leaping, like calves released from the stall.

  15. He has with him his winnowing fork; and he will clear out his threshing floor, gathering his wheat into the barn but burning up the straw with unquenchable fire!"

  16. "You are salt for the Land. But if salt becomes tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything except being thrown out for people to trample on.

  17. "You are light for the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.

  18. It was at that time that Yeshua said, "I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you concealed these things from the sophisticated and educated and revealed them to ordinary folks.

  19. But he said, `No, because if you pull up the weeds, you might uproot some of the wheat at the same time.

  20. Let them both grow together until the harvest; and at harvesttime I will tell the reapers to collect the weeds first and tie them in bundles to be burned, but to gather the wheat into my barn.'"

  21. Then the righteous will shine forth like the sun in the Kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears, let him hear!

  22. When it was full, the fishermen brought the net up onto the shore, sat down and collected the good fish in baskets, but threw the bad fish away.

  23. and said, "Yes! I tell you that unless you change and become like little children, you won't even enter the Kingdom of Heaven!

  24. His master said to him, `Excellent! You are a good and trustworthy servant. You have been faithful with a small amount, so I will put you in charge of a large amount. Come and join in your master's happiness!'

  25. The `sheep' he will place at his right hand and the `goats' at his left.
