  1. The sun has one degree of splendor, the moon another, and the stars another; and star differs from star in splendor.

  2. So will it be with the resurrection of the dead: What is sown is perishable; it is raised imperishable.

  3. It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness; it is raised in power.

  4. It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.

  5. So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living being;” the last Adam a life-giving spirit.

  6. The spiritual, however, was not first, but the natural, and then the spiritual.

  9. And just as we have borne the likeness of the earthly man, so also shall we bear the likeness of the heavenly man.

  10. Now I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.

  11. Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed—

  12. in an instant, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.

  13. For the perishable must be clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality.

  14. When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come to pass: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”

  15. “Where, O Death, is your victory? Where, O Death, is your sting?”

  16. The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.

  17. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!

  18. knowing that the One who raised the Lord Jesus will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you in His presence.

  19. Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is dismantled, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.

  20. For in this tent we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling,

  21. because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked.

  22. So while we are in this tent, we groan under our burdens, because we do not wish to be unclothed but clothed, so that our mortality may be swallowed up by life.

  23. And God has prepared us for this very purpose and has given us the Spirit as a pledge of what is to come.

  24. And you were dead in your trespasses and sins,

  25. made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in our trespasses. It is by grace you have been saved!
