  17. For at that time the Holy Spirit will teach you what you should say.”

  18. Then John testified, “I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove and resting on Him.

  19. I myself did not know Him, but the One who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit descend and rest is He who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’

  20. Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.

  21. Flesh is born of flesh, but spirit is born of the Spirit.

  22. The wind blows where it wishes. You hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”

  23. For the One whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit.

  24. God is Spirit, and His worshipers must worship Him in spirit and in truth.”

  25. He was speaking about the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were later to receive. For the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet been glorified.
