  1. Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with pure gold.

  2. And there were six steps to the throne, with a footstool of gold, which were fastened to the throne, and stays on either side by the place of the seat, and two lions standing beside the stays.

  3. And twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps: there was not the like made in any kingdom.

  9. And Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, that he bestowed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.

  10. And he ruled over all the kings from the River even unto the land of the Philistines, and to the border of Egypt.

  11. And the king made silver to be in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars made he to be as the sycomore-trees that are in the lowland, for abundance.

  12. And they brought horses for Solomon out of Egypt, and out of all lands.

  13. Now the rest of the acts of Solomon, first and last, are they not written in the history of Nathan the prophet, and in the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Iddo the seer concerning Jeroboam the son of Nebat?

  14. And Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel forty years.

  15. And Solomon slept with his fathers, and he was buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead.

  16. Thy father made our yoke grievous: now therefore make thou the grievous service of thy father, and his heavy yoke which he put upon us, lighter, and we will serve thee.

  17. and prepare yourselves after your fathers’ houses by your courses, according to the writing of David king of Israel, and according to the writing of Solomon his son.

  18. And they kept the charge of their God, and the charge of the purification, and so did the singers and the porters, according to the commandment of David, and of Solomon his son.

  19. Did not Solomon king of Israel sin by these things? yet among many nations was there no king like him, and he was beloved of his God, and God made him king over all Israel: nevertheless even him did foreign women cause to sin.

  20. Thou art fairer than the children of men; Grace is poured into thy lips: Therefore God hath blessed thee for ever.

  21. Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O mighty one, Thy glory and thy majesty.

  22. And in thy majesty ride on prosperously, Because of truth and meekness and righteousness: And thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.

  23. Thine arrows are sharp; The peoples fall under thee; They arein the heart of the king’s enemies.

  24. Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: A sceptre of equity is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

  25. Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated wickedness: Therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee With the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
