  1. When thy days are fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, that shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.

  8. Wherefore Jehovah said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant.

  9. Notwithstanding in thy days I will not do it, for David thy father’s sake: but I will rend it out of the hand of thy son.

  10. Howbeit I will not rend away all the kingdom; but I will give one tribe to thy son, for David my servant’s sake, and for Jerusalem’s sake which I have chosen.

  11. And it shall come to pass, when thy days are fulfilled that thou must go to be with thy fathers, that I will set up thy seed after thee, who shall be of thy sons; and I will establish his kingdom.

  12. He shall build me a house, and I will establish his throne for ever.

  13. I will be his father, and he shall be my son: and I will not take my lovingkindness away from him, as I took it from him that was before thee;

  14. but I will settle him in my house and in my kingdom for ever; and his throne shall be established for ever.

  15. And he said unto me, Solomon thy son, he shall build my house and my courts; for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father.

  16. And I will establish his kingdom for ever, if he be constant to do my commandments and mine ordinances, as at this day.

  17. Jehovah hath sworn unto David in truth; He will not turn from it: Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.
