  1. And when thy days shall be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will raise up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of the bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.

  2. He shall build a house to my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom fore ever.

  8. The Lord therefore said to Solomon: Because thou hast done this, and hast not kept my covenant, and my precepts, which I have commanded thee, I will divide and rend thy kingdom, and will give it to thy servant.

  9. Nevertheless, in thy days I will not do it, for David thy father's sake: but I will rend it out of the hand of thy son.

  10. Neither will I take away the whole kingdom; but I will give one tribe to thy son, for the sake of David, my servant, and Jerusalem, which I have chosen.

  11. And when thou shalt have ended thy days to go to thy fathers, I will raise up thy seed after thee, which shall be of thy sons: and I will establish his kingdom.

  12. He shall build me a house, and I will establish his throne for ever.

  13. I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son: and I will not take my mercy away from him, as I took it from him that was before thee.

  14. But I will settle him in my house, and in my kingdom for ever: and his throne shall be most firm for ever.

  15. And he said to me: Solomon thy son shall build my house, and my courts: for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be a father to him.

  16. And I will establish his kingdom for ever, it he continue to keep my commandments, and my judgments, as at this day.

  17. ¶ The LORD hath sworn in truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.
