  1. and to wait for His Son from the heavens, whom He did raise out of the dead--Jesus, who is rescuing us from the anger that is coming.

  11. who did save us, and did call with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, that was given to us in Christ Jesus, before the times of the ages,

  12. and the youthful lusts flee thou, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace, with those calling upon the Lord out of a pure heart;

  13. every Writing is God-breathed, and profitable for teaching, for conviction, for setting aright, for instruction that is in righteousness,

  14. for I am already being poured out, and the time of my release hath arrived;

  15. the good strife I have striven, the course I have finished, the faith I have kept,

  16. henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of the righteousness that the Lord--the Righteous Judge--shall give to me in that day, and not only to me, but also to all those loving his manifestation.

  17. aged men to be temperate, grave, sober, sound in the faith, in the love, in the endurance;

  18. For the saving grace of God was manifested to all men,

  19. teaching us, that denying the impiety and the worldly desires, soberly and righteously and piously we may live in the present age,

  20. (not by works that are in righteousness that we did but according to His kindness,) He did save us, through a bathing of regeneration, and a renewing of the Holy Spirit,

  21. and let them learn--ours also--to be leading in good works to the necessary uses, that they may not be unfruitful.

  22. hearing of thy love and faith that thou hast unto the Lord Jesus and toward all the saints,

  23. that the fellowship of thy faith may become working in the full knowledge of every good thing that is in you toward Christ Jesus;

  24. and unto the Son: `Thy throne, O God, is to the age of the age; a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy reign;

  25. thou didst love righteousness, and didst hate lawlessness; because of this did He anoint thee--God, thy God--with oil of gladness above thy partners;'
