  9. well reported of for good works; if she hath brought up children, if she hath used hospitality to strangers, if she hath washed the saints’ feet, if she hath relieved the afflicted, if she hath diligently followed every good work.

  10. But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

  11. who saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before times eternal,

  12. But flee youthful lusts, and follow after righteousness, faith, love, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

  13. Every scripture inspired of God is also profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction which is in righteousness:

  14. For I am already being offered, and the time of my departure is come.

  15. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith:

  16. henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give to me at that day; and not to me only, but also to all them that have loved his appearing.

  17. that aged men be temperate, grave, sober-minded, sound in faith, in love, in patience:

  18. For the grace of God hath appeared, bringing salvation to all men,

  19. instructing us, to the intent that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly and righteously and godly in this present world;

  20. not by works done in righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

  21. And let our people also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful.

  22. hearing of thy love, and of the faith which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all the saints;

  23. that the fellowship of thy faith may become effectual, in the knowledge of every good thing which is in you, unto Christ.

  24. but of the Sonhe saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever; And the sceptre of uprightness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

  25. Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; Therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee With the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
