  1. then saith he to his disciples, `The harvest indeed is abundant, but the workmen few;

  2. beseech ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he may put forth workmen to His harvest.'

  12. And the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mount where Jesus appointed them,

  13. and having seen him, they bowed to him, but some did waver.

  14. And having come near, Jesus spake to them, saying, `Given to me was all authority in heaven and on earth;

  15. having gone, then, disciple all the nations, (baptizing them--to the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,

  16. he who hath believed, and hath been baptized, shall be saved; and he who hath not believed, shall be condemned.

  17. and they, having gone forth, did preach everywhere, the Lord working with them , and confirming the word, through the signs following. Amen.

  18. and Jesus said to him, `Suffer the dead to bury their own dead, and thou, having gone away, publish the reign of God.'

  19. And after these things, the Lord did appoint also other seventy, and sent them by twos before his face, to every city and place whither he himself was about to come,

  20. `He who is hearing you, doth hear me; and he who is putting you away, doth put me away; and he who is putting me away, doth put away Him who sent me.'

  21. And the seventy turned back with joy, saying, `Sir, and the demons are being subjected to us in thy name;'

  22. and I besought for thee, that thy faith may not fail; and thou, when thou didst turn, strengthen thy brethren.'

  23. and the hireling, and not being a shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, doth behold the wolf coming, and doth leave the sheep, and doth flee; and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep;

  24. When, therefore, they dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, `Simon, son of Jonas, dost thou love me more than these?' he saith to him, `Yes, Lord; thou hast known that I dearly love thee;' he saith to him, `Feed my lambs.'

  25. He saith to him again, a second time, `Simon, son of Jonas, dost thou love me?' he saith to him, `Yes, Lord; thou hast known that I dearly love thee;' he saith to him, `Tend my sheep.'
