  1. I say, then, Did God cast away His people? let it not be! for I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin:

  2. God did not cast away His people whom He knew before; have ye not known--in Elijah--what the Writing saith? how he doth plead with God concerning Israel, saying,

  3. Have ye not known that your body is a sanctuary of the Holy Spirit in you, which ye have from God? and ye are not your own,

  4. for ye were bought with a price; glorify, then, God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.

  5. And the all things are of God, who reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and did give to us the ministration of the reconciliation,

  6. how that God was in Christ--a world reconciling to Himself, not reckoning to them their trespasses; and having put in us the word of the reconciliation,

  7. in behalf of Christ, then, we are ambassadors, as if God were calling through us, we beseech, in behalf of Christ, `Be ye reconciled to God;'

  8. for him who did not know sin, in our behalf He did make sin, that we may become the righteousness of God in him.

  9. Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who did bless us in every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

  10. according as He did choose us in him before the foundation of the world, for our being holy and unblemished before Him, in love,

  11. having foreordained us to the adoption of sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,

  12. to the praise of the glory of His grace, in which He did make us accepted in the beloved,

  13. and God, being rich in kindness, because of His great love with which He loved us,

  14. even being dead in the trespasses, did make us to live together with the Christ, (by grace ye are having been saved,)

  15. and when the kindness and the love to men of God our Saviour did appear

  16. (not by works that are in righteousness that we did but according to His kindness,) He did save us, through a bathing of regeneration, and a renewing of the Holy Spirit,

  17. In many parts, and many ways, God of old having spoken to the fathers in the prophets,

  18. in these last days did speak to us in a Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He did make the ages;

  19. For to Abraham God, having made promise, seeing He was able to swear by no greater, did swear by Himself,

  20. saying, `Blessing indeed I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee;'

  21. and so, having patiently endured, he did obtain the promise;

  22. for men indeed do swear by the greater, and an end of all controversy to them for confirmation is the oath,

  23. in which God, more abundantly willing to shew to the heirs of the promise the immutability of his counsel, did interpose by an oath,

  24. that through two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, a strong comfort we may have who did flee for refuge to lay hold on the hope set before us ,

  25. which we have, as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and entering into that within the vail,
