  1. the wicked man writhes in pain all his days, even the number of years that are laid up for the oppressor.

  10. He shall not be rich, neither shall his substance continue, neither shall their possessions be extended on the earth.

  11. He shall not depart out of darkness. The flame shall dry up his branches. By the breath of God’s mouth shall he go away.

  12. Let him not trust in emptiness, deceiving himself; for emptiness shall be his reward.

  13. It shall be accomplished before his time. His branch shall not be green.

  14. He shall shake off his unripe grape as the vine, and shall cast off his flower as the olive tree.

  15. For the company of the godless shall be barren, and fire shall consume the tents of bribery.

  16. They conceive mischief, and produce iniquity. Their heart prepares deceit.”

  17. “Yes, the light of the wicked shall be put out, The spark of his fire shall not shine.

  18. The light shall be dark in his tent. His lamp above him shall be put out.

  19. The steps of his strength shall be shortened. His own counsel shall cast him down.

  20. For he is cast into a net by his own feet, and he wanders into its mesh.

  21. A snare will take him by the heel. A trap will catch him.

  22. A noose is hidden for him in the ground, a trap for him on the path.

  23. Terrors shall make him afraid on every side, and shall chase him at his heels.

  24. His strength shall be famished. Calamity shall be ready at his side.

  25. The members of his body shall be devoured. The firstborn of death shall devour his members.
