  1. “Be careful to do all things that I have said to you; and don’t invoke the name of other gods, neither let them be heard out of your mouth.

  10. Take good heed therefore to yourselves, that you love the LORD your God.

  11. and keep the instruction of the LORD your God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, his commandments, his ordinances, and his testimonies, according to that which is written in the Torah of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do, and wherever you turn yourself.

  12. That the LORD may establish his word which he spoke concerning me, saying, ‘If your children take heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail you,’ he said, ‘a man on the throne of Israel.’

  13. Now therefore, may LORD, the God of Israel, keep with your servant David my father that which you have promised him, saying, ‘There shall not fail you a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel, if only your children take heed to their way, to walk before me as you have walked before me.’

  14. Now therefore let the fear of the LORD be on you. Take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the LORD our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of bribes.”

  15. But we made our prayer to our God, and set a watch against them day and night, because of them.

  16. Don’t let riches entice you to wrath, neither let the great size of a bribe turn you aside.

  17. Would your wealth sustain you in distress, or all the might of your strength?

  18. Don’t desire the night, when people are cut off in their place.

  19. Take heed, don’t regard iniquity; for you have chosen this rather than affliction.

  20. I said, “I will watch my ways, so that I don’t sin with my tongue. I will keep my mouth with a bridle while the wicked is before me.”

  21. I watch, and have become like a sparrow that is alone on the housetop.

  22. How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word.

  23. Set a watch, LORD, before my mouth. Keep the door of my lips.

  24. Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life.

  25. Let your eyes look straight ahead. Fix your gaze directly before you.
