  1. And in all things that I have said unto you take ye heed: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth.

  2. Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee:

  9. Only take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law which Moses the servant of Jehovah commanded you, to love Jehovah your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.

  10. Take good heed therefore unto yourselves, that ye love Jehovah your God.

  11. and keep the charge of Jehovah thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his ordinances, and his testimonies, according to that which is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself;

  12. that Jehovah may establish his word which he spake concerning me, saying, If thy children take heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail thee (said he) a man on the throne of Israel.

  13. Now therefore, O Jehovah, the God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel, if only thy children take heed to their way, to walk before me as thou hast walked before me.

  14. Now therefore let the fear of Jehovah be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with Jehovah our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of bribes.

  15. But we made our prayer unto our God, and set a watch against them day and night, because of them.

  16. For let not wrath stir thee up against chastisements; Neither let the greatness of the ransom turn thee aside.

  17. Will thy cry avail, that thou be not in distress, Or all the forces ofthystrength?

  18. Desire not the night, When peoples are cut off in their place.

  19. Take heed, regard not iniquity: For this hast thou chosen rather than affliction.

  20. I said, I will take heed to my ways, That I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, While the wicked is before me.

  21. I watch, and am become like a sparrow That is alone upon the house-top.

  22. Wherewith shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed thereto according to thy word.

  23. Set a watch, O Jehovah, before my mouth; Keep the door of my lips.
