  1. Morning by morning, I will destroy all the wicked of the land; to cut off all the workers of iniquity from the LORD’s city.

  11. For it is a rebellious people, lying children, children who will not hear the LORD’s law;

  12. Against whom do you sport yourselves? Against whom do you make a wide mouth, and stick out your tongue? Aren’t you children of disobedience, a seed of falsehood,

  13. I have spread out my hands all the day to a rebellious people, who walk in a way that is not good, after their own thoughts;

  14. How well you prepare your way to seek love! Therefore you have taught even the wicked women your ways.

  15. “For my people are foolish, they don’t know me. They are foolish children, and they have no understanding. They are skillful in doing evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.”

  16. They are all grievous rebels, going about with slanders; they are brass and iron: they all of them deal corruptly.

  17. The children are impudent and stiff-hearted: I am sending you to them; and you shall tell them, Thus says the Lord the LORD.

  18. They, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house), yet shall know that there has been a prophet among them.

  19. But you, son of man, hear what I tell you; don’t be rebellious like that rebellious house: open your mouth, and eat that which I give you.

  20. Son of man, you dwell in the midst of the rebellious house, who have eyes to see, and don’t see, who have ears to hear, and don’t hear; for they are a rebellious house.

  24. But he answered them, “An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, but no sign will be given it but the sign of Jonah the prophet.

  25. Then he goes, and takes with himself seven other spirits more evil than he is, and they enter in and dwell there. The last state of that man becomes worse than the first. Even so will it be also to this evil generation.”
