  1. But God will shoot at them. They will be suddenly struck down with an arrow.

  13. For all day long have I been plagued, and punished every morning.

  14. If I had said, “I will speak thus”; behold, I would have betrayed the generation of your children.

  15. When I tried to understand this, it was too painful for me;

  16. Until I entered God’s sanctuary, and considered their latter end.

  17. Surely you set them in slippery places. You throw them down to destruction.

  18. How they are suddenly destroyed! They are completely swept away with terrors.

  19. He made a path for his anger. He didn’t spare their soul from death, but gave their life over to the pestilence,

  20. You will only look with your eyes, and see the recompense of the wicked.

  21. though the wicked spring up as the grass, and all the evildoers flourish, they will be destroyed forever.

  22. He has brought on them their own iniquity, and will cut them off in their own wickedness. The LORD, our God, will cut them off.

  23. and a fruitful land into a salt waste, for the wickedness of those who dwell in it.

  24. Most certainly, the evil man will not be unpunished, but the seed of the righteous will be delivered.

  25. Behold, the righteous shall be repaid in the earth; how much more the wicked and the sinner!
