  1. God said, “Let the waters under the sky be gathered together to one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so.

  2. God called the dry land “earth”, and the gathering together of the waters he called “seas”. God saw that it was good.

  3. He has described a boundary on the surface of the waters, and to the confines of light and darkness.

  10. Behold, a violent storm came up on the sea, so much that the boat was covered with the waves, but he was asleep.

  11. They came to him, and woke him up, saying, “Save us, Lord! We are dying!”

  12. He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then he got up, rebuked the wind and the sea, and there was a great calm.

  13. In the fourth watch of the night, Yeshua came to them, walking on the sea.

  14. When the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It’s a ghost!” and they cried out for fear.

  15. But immediately Yeshua spoke to them, saying “Cheer up! It is I! Don’t be afraid.”

  16. Peter answered him and said, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the waters.”

  17. He said, “Come!” Peter stepped down from the boat, and walked on the waters to come to Yeshua.

  18. But when he saw that the wind was strong, he was afraid, and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”

  19. Immediately Yeshua stretched out his hand, took hold of him, and said to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?”

  20. A big wind storm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so much that the boat was already filled.

  21. He himself was in the stern, asleep on the cushion, and they woke him up, and told him, “Rabbi, don’t you care that we are dying?”

  22. He awoke, and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” The wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

  23. The sea gave up the dead who were in it. Death and Sheol gave up the dead who were in them. They were judged, each one according to his works.
