  1. But say the things which fit sound doctrine,

  2. that older men should be temperate, sensible, sober minded, sound in faith, in love, and in patience:

  3. Exhort servants to be in subjection to their own masters, and to be well-pleasing in all things; not contradicting;

  4. that you won’t be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherited the promises.

  5. Thus, having patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

  6. For you need endurance so that, having done the will of God, you may receive the promise.

  7. Therefore let us also, seeing we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

  8. knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.

  9. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

  10. So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger;

  11. Be patient therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient over it, until it receives the early and late rain.

  12. You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.

  13. Take, brothers, for an example of suffering and of patience, the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.

  14. Behold, we call them blessed who endured. You have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the Lord in the outcome, and how the Lord is full of compassion and mercy.

  15. For it is commendable if someone endures pain, suffering unjustly, because of conscience toward God.

  16. For what glory is it if, when you sin, you patiently endure beating? But if, when you do well, you patiently endure suffering, this is commendable with God.

  17. For to this you were called, because Messiah also suffered for us, leaving you an example, that you should follow his steps,

  18. who did not sin, “neither was deceit found in his mouth.”

  19. Who, when he was cursed, didn’t curse back. When he suffered, didn’t threaten, but committed himself to him who judges righteously;

  20. Yes, and for this very cause adding on your part all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence; and in moral excellence, knowledge;

  21. and in knowledge, self-control; and in self-control patience; and in patience godliness;

  22. I Yochanan, your brother and partner with you in oppression, Kingdom, and perseverance in Messiah Yeshua, was on the isle that is called Patmos because of God’s Word and the testimony of Yeshua the Messiah.

  23. “I know your works, and your toil and perseverance, and that you can’t tolerate evil men, and have tested those who call themselves emissaries, and they are not, and found them false.

  24. You have perseverance and have endured for my name’s sake, and have not grown weary.

  25. If anyone is to go into captivity, he will go into captivity. If anyone is to be killed with the sword, he must be killed. Here is the endurance and the faith of the holy ones.
