Key Bible Verses
But speak thou the things that become sound doctrine:
That the aged men be sober, chaste, prudent, sound in faith, in love, in patience.
Exhort servants to be obedient to their masters: in all things pleasing, not gainsaying:
That you become not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience shall inherit the promises.
And so patiently enduring he obtained the promise.
For patience is necessary for you: that, doing the will of God, you may receive the promise.
And therefore we also having so great a cloud of witnesses over our head, laying aside every weight and sin which surrounds us, let us run by patience to the fight proposed to us:
Knowing that the trying of your faith worketh patience
And patience hath a perfect work: that you may be perfect and entire, failing in nothing.
You know, my dearest brethren. And let every man be swift to hear, but slow to speak and slow to anger.
Be patient therefore, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth: patiently bearing till he receive the early and latter rain.
Be you therefore also patient and strengthen your hearts: for the coming of the Lord is at hand.
Take, my brethren, for example of suffering evil, of labour and patience, the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.
Behold, we account them blessed who have endured. You have heard of the patience of Job and you have seen the end of the Lord, that the Lord is merciful and compassionate.
For this is thankworthy: if, for conscience towards God, a man endure sorrows, suffering wrongfully.
For what glory is it, if, committing sin and being buffeted for it, you endure? But if doing well you suffer patiently: this is thankworthy before God.
For unto this are you called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving you an example that you should follow his steps.
Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth.
Who, when he was reviled, did not revile: when he suffered, he threatened not, but delivered himself to him that judged him unjustly.
And you, employing all care, minister in your faith, virtue: And in virtue, knowledge:
And in knowledge, abstinence: and in abstinence, patience: and in patience, godliness:
I, John, your brother and your partner in tribulation and in the kingdom and patience in Christ Jesus, was in the island which is called Patmos, for the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus.
I know thy works and thy labour and thy patience and how thou canst not bear them that are evil. And thou hast tried them who say they are apostles and are not: and hast found them liars:
And thou hast patience and hast endured for my name and hast not fainted.
He that shall lead into captivity shall go into captivity: he that shall kill by the sword must be killed by the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.
