That you may walk worthy of God, in all things pleasing; being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God:
Strengthened with all might according to the power of his glory, in all patience and longsuffering with joy,
Put ye on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, the bowels of mercy, benignity, humility, modesty, patience:
Bearing with one another and forgiving one another, if any have a complaint against another. Even as the Lord hath forgiven you, so do you also.
Being mindful of the work of your faith and labour and charity: and of the enduring of the hope of our Lord Jesus Christ before God and our Father.
And we beseech you, brethren, rebuke the unquiet: comfort the feeble minded: support the weak: be patient towards all men.
So that we ourselves also glory in you in the churches of God, for your patience and faith, and in all your persecutions and tribulations: which you endure
And the Lord direct your hearts, in the charity of God and the patience of Christ.
It behoveth therefore a bishop to be blameless, the husband of one wife, sober, prudent, of good behaviour, chaste, given to hospitality, a teacher,
Not given to wine, no striker, but modest, not quarrelsome, not covetous, but
But thou, O man of God, fly these things: and pursue justice, godliness, faith, charity, patience, mildness.
But the servant of the Lord must not wrangle: but be mild toward all men, apt to teach, patient,
With modesty admonishing them that resist the truth: if peradventure God may give them repentance to know the truth;
But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, patience,
