  1. For they have not served you in their kingdom, and in your great goodness that you gave them, and in the large and rich land which you gave before them, neither did they turn from their wicked works.

  16. Thus were they defiled with their works, and prostituted themselves in their deeds.

  17. Therefore the LORD burned with anger against his people. He abhorred his inheritance.

  18. He gave them into the hand of the nations. Those who hated them ruled over them.

  19. Their enemies also oppressed them. They were brought into subjection under their hand.

  20. Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.

  21. They have mouths, but they don’t speak. They have eyes, but they don’t see.

  22. They have ears, but they don’t hear. They have noses, but they don’t smell.

  23. They have hands, but they don’t feel. They have feet, but they don’t walk, neither do they speak through their throat.

  24. Those who make them will be like them; yes, everyone who trusts in them.

  25. The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.
