  13. Rejoice in the Lord always! Again I will say, “Rejoice!”

  14. Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.

  15. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.

  16. Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things.

  17. The things which you learned, received, heard, and saw in me: do these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

  21. Which things indeed appear like wisdom in self-imposed worship, and humility, and severity to the body; but aren’t of any value against the indulgence of the flesh.

  22. If then you were raised together with Messiah, seek the things that are above, where Messiah is, seated on the right hand of God.

  23. Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth.

  24. but now you also put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and shameful speaking out of your mouth.
