Esau

They traveled from Kadesh, and encamped in Mount Hor, in the edge of the land of Edom.

then your south quarter shall be from the wilderness of Zin along by the side of Edom, and your south border shall be from the end of the Salt Sea eastward.

The lot for the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families was to the border of Edom, even to the wilderness of Zin southward, at the uttermost part of the south.

For when David was in Edom, and Joab the captain of the army was gone up to bury the slain, and had struck every male in Edom

There was no king in Edom: a deputy was king.

He said, “Which way shall we go up?” He answered, “The way of the wilderness of Edom.”

So the king of Israel went, and the king of Judah, and the king of Edom; and they made a circuit of seven days’ journey. There was no water for the army, nor for the animals that followed them.

Jehoshaphat said, “the LORD’s word is with him.” So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom went down to him.

In the morning, about the time of offering the offering, behold, water came by the way of Edom, and the country was filled with water.
