David
Verses Mentioning David
He said to the Levites who taught all Israel, who were holy to the LORD, “Put the holy ark in the house which Solomon the son of David king of Israel built. There shall no more be a burden on your shoulders. Now serve the LORD your God, and his people Israel.
Prepare yourselves after your fathers’ houses by your divisions, according to the writing of David king of Israel, and according to the writing of Solomon his son.
The singers the sons of Asaph were in their place, according to the commandment of David, and Asaph, and Heman, and Jeduthun the king’s seer; and the porters were at every gate: they didn’t need to depart from their service; for their brothers the Levites prepared for them.
When the builders laid the foundation of the LORD’s temple, they set the priests in their clothing with shofars, with the Levites the sons of Asaph with cymbals, to praise the LORD, according to the directions of David king of Israel.
Of the sons of Phinehas, Gershom. Of the sons of Ithamar, Daniel. Of the sons of David, Hattush.
and of the Nethinim, whom David and the princes had given for the service of the Levites, two hundred and twenty Nethinim: all of them were mentioned by name.
Shallun the son of Colhozeh, the ruler of the district of Mizpah repaired the spring gate. He built it, and covered it, and set up its doors, its bolts, and its bars, and the wall of the pool of Shelah by the king’s garden, even to the stairs that go down from the city of David.
After him, Nehemiah the son of Azbuk, the ruler of half the district of Beth Zur, made repairs to the place opposite the tombs of David, and to the pool that was made, and to the house of the mighty men.
The chiefs of the Levites: Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Yeshua the son of Kadmiel, with their brothers over against them, to praise and give thanks, according to the commandment of David the man of God, watch next to watch.
and his brothers, Shemaiah, and Azarel, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethanel, and Judah, Hanani, with the musical instruments of David the man of God; and Ezra the scribe was before them.
By the spring gate, and straight before them, they went up by the stairs of the city of David, at the ascent of the wall, above the house of David, even to the water gate eastward.
They performed the duty of their God, and the duty of the purification, and so did the singers and the porters, according to the commandment of David, and of Solomon his son.
For in the days of David and Asaph of old there was a chief of the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgiving to God.
LORD, how my adversaries have increased! Many are those who rise up against me.
Answer me when I call, God of my righteousness. Give me relief from my distress. Have mercy on me, and hear my prayer.
Give ear to my words, LORD. Consider my meditation.
LORD, don’t rebuke me in your anger, neither discipline me in your wrath.
LORD, my God, I take refuge in you. Save me from all those who pursue me, and deliver me,
LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth, who has set your glory above the heavens!
I will give thanks to the LORD with my whole heart. I will tell of all your marvelous works.
In the LORD, I take refuge. How can you say to my soul, “Flee as a bird to your mountain!”
Help, LORD; for the godly man ceases. For the faithful fail from among the children of men.
How long, LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?
The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt. They have done abominable works. There is no one who does good.
LORD, who shall dwell in your sanctuary? Who shall live on your holy hill?
