  1. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.

  2. But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.

  3. And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.

  12. Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.

  13. Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

  14. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

  15. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

  16. Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

  17. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

  18. Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;

  19. In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

  20. Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

  21. For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;

  22. And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?

  23. So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

  24. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
