  1. ¶ Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified.

  2. Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers.

  12. And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,

  13. And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

  14. Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

  15. Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

  16. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

  17. Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

  18. For he that is dead is freed from sin.

  19. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

  20. For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.

  21. Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.

  22. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.

  23. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
