  1. For he shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and him that hath no helper.

  2. He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy.

  9. ¶ Righteous lips are the delight of kings; and they love him that speaketh right.

  10. ¶ Excellent speech becometh not a fool: much less do lying lips a prince.

  11. ¶ The king's wrath is as the roaring of a lion; but his favour is as dew upon the grass.

  12. ¶ A king that sitteth in the throne of judgment scattereth away all evil with his eyes.

  13. ¶ A wise king scattereth the wicked, and bringeth the wheel over them.

  14. ¶ Mercy and truth preserve the king: and his throne is upholden by mercy.

  15. ¶ The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.

  16. ¶ These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment.

  17. He that saith unto the wicked, Thou art righteous; him shall the people curse, nations shall abhor him:

  18. But to them that rebuke him shall be delight, and a good blessing shall come upon them.

  19. Every man shall kiss his lips that giveth a right answer.

  20. ¶ It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.

  21. The heaven for height, and the earth for depth, and the heart of kings is unsearchable.

  22. Take away the wicked from before the king, and his throne shall be established in righteousness.

  23. ¶ For the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof: but by a man of understanding and knowledge the state thereof shall be prolonged.

  24. ¶ The prince that wanteth understanding is also a great oppressor: but he that hateth covetousness shall prolong his days.

  25. ¶ When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
