  2. So when they were dismissed, they came to Antioch: and when they had gathered the multitude together, they delivered the epistle:

  3. Which when they had read, they rejoiced for the consolation.

  4. And Judas and Silas, being prophets also themselves, exhorted the brethren with many words, and confirmed them.

  5. And after they had tarried there a space, they were let go in peace from the brethren unto the apostles.

  6. Notwithstanding it pleased Silas to abide there still.

  7. Paul also and Barnabas continued in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.

  8. ¶ And some days after Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they do.

  9. And he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the churches.

  10. And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.

  11. And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither.

  12. The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.

  13. And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

  14. And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.

  15. And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,

  16. Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ.

  17. ¶ Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry.

  18. Therefore disputed he in the synagogue with the Jews, and with the devout persons, and in the market daily with them that met with him.

  19. ¶ Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.

  20. For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.

  21. God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

  22. Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;

  23. And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

  24. That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:

  25. For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.
