  1. Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me.

  7. Whereupon certain Jews from Asia found me purified in the temple, neither with multitude, nor with tumult.

  8. Who ought to have been here before thee, and object, if they had ought against me.

  9. Or else let these same here say, if they have found any evil doing in me, while I stood before the council,

  10. Except it be for this one voice, that I cried standing among them, Touching the resurrection of the dead I am called in question by you this day.

  11. ¶ And when Felix heard these things, having more perfect knowledge of that way, he deferred them, and said, When Lysias the chief captain shall come down, I will know the uttermost of your matter.

  12. And he commanded a centurion to keep Paul, and to let him have liberty, and that he should forbid none of his acquaintance to minister or come unto him.

  13. And after certain days, when Felix came with his wife Drusilla, which was a Jewess, he sent for Paul, and heard him concerning the faith in Christ.

  14. And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.

  15. ¶ Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Thou art permitted to speak for thyself. Then Paul stretched forth the hand, and answered for himself:

  16. I think myself happy, king Agrippa, because I shall answer for myself this day before thee touching all the things whereof I am accused of the Jews:

  17. Especially because I know thee to be expert in all customs and questions which are among the Jews: wherefore I beseech thee to hear me patiently.

  18. My manner of life from my youth, which was at the first among mine own nation at Jerusalem, know all the Jews;

  19. Which knew me from the beginning, if they would testify, that after the most straitest sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee.

  20. And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made of God unto our fathers:

  21. Unto which promise our twelve tribes, instantly serving God day and night, hope to come. For which hope's sake, king Agrippa, I am accused of the Jews.

  22. Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead?

  23. I verily thought with myself, that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth.

  24. Which thing I also did in Jerusalem: and many of the saints did I shut up in prison, having received authority from the chief priests; and when they were put to death, I gave my voice against them.

  25. And I punished them oft in every synagogue, and compelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly mad against them, I persecuted them even unto strange cities.
