  1. For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.

  2. Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.

  10. And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent unto them, saying, Ye men and brethren, if ye have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.

  11. And finding disciples, we tarried there seven days: who said to Paul through the Spirit, that he should not go up to Jerusalem.

  12. And the same man had four daughters, virgins, which did prophesy.

  13. And as we tarried there many days, there came down from Judaea a certain prophet, named Agabus.

  14. And when he was come unto us, he took Paul's girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.

  15. And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers,

  16. ¶ Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,

  17. (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,)

  18. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

  19. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

  20. To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

  21. To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

  22. But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

  23. And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.

  24. ¶ Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.

  25. Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men:
