  1. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

  2. At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:

  3. For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.

  11. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

  12. Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

  13. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

  14. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

  15. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

  16. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

  17. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

  18. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

  19. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

  20. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

  21. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

  22. ¶ And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

  23. And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
