  1. And the angel of the LORD said unto Manoah, Though thou detain me, I will not eat of thy bread: and if thou wilt offer a burnt offering, thou must offer it unto the LORD. For Manoah knew not that he was an angel of the LORD.

  2. Wherefore the sin of the young men was very great before the LORD: for men abhorred the offering of the LORD.

  6. And he burnt his burnt offering and his meat offering, and poured his drink offering, and sprinkled the blood of his peace offerings, upon the altar.

  7. And they sacrificed sacrifices unto the LORD, and offered burnt offerings unto the LORD, on the morrow after that day, even a thousand bullocks, a thousand rams, and a thousand lambs, with their drink offerings, and sacrifices in abundance for all Israel:

  8. And also the burnt offerings were in abundance, with the fat of the peace offerings, and the drink offerings for every burnt offering. So the service of the house of the LORD was set in order.

  9. ¶ Then Hezekiah commanded to prepare chambers in the house of the LORD; and they prepared them,

  10. And brought in the offerings and the tithes and the dedicated things faithfully: over which Cononiah the Levite was ruler, and Shimei his brother was the next.

  11. That thou mayest buy speedily with this money bullocks, rams, lambs, with their meat offerings and their drink offerings, and offer them upon the altar of the house of your God which is in Jerusalem.

  12. And we cast the lots among the priests, the Levites, and the people, for the wood offering, to bring it into the house of our God, after the houses of our fathers, at times appointed year by year, to burn upon the altar of the LORD our God, as it is written in the law:

  13. And that we should bring the firstfruits of our dough, and our offerings, and the fruit of all manner of trees, of wine and of oil, unto the priests, to the chambers of the house of our God; and the tithes of our ground unto the Levites, that the same Levites might have the tithes in all the cities of our tillage.

  14. ¶ And I perceived that the portions of the Levites had not been given them: for the Levites and the singers, that did the work, were fled every one to his field.

  15. Then contended I with the rulers, and said, Why is the house of God forsaken? And I gathered them together, and set them in their place.

  16. Then brought all Judah the tithe of the corn and the new wine and the oil unto the treasuries.

  17. And for the wood offering, at times appointed, and for the firstfruits. Remember me, O my God, for good.

  18. And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.

  19. ¶ Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required.

  20. Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,

  21. I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.

  22. I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before me.

  23. I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he goats out of thy folds.

  24. For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.

  25. I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine.
