  1. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,

  2. Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:

  3. All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

  4. And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

  11. Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.

  12. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

  13. Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many:

  14. And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready.

  15. And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused.

  16. And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused.

  17. And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.

  18. So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind.

  19. And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room.

  20. And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

  21. For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.

  22. And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!

  23. For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

  24. Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.

  25. Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
