Detractors, hateful to God, contumelious, proud, haughty, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

For when you were the servants of sin, you were free men to justice.

That is to say, not they that are the children of the flesh are the children of God: but they that are the children of the promise are accounted for the seed.

What if God, willing to shew his wrath and to make his power known, endured with much patience vessels of wrath, fitted for destruction,

Try your own selves if you be in the faith: prove ye yourselves. Know you not your own selves, that Christ Jesus is in you, unless perhaps you be reprobates?

But I trust that you shall know that we are not reprobates.

Now we pray God that you may do no evil, not that we may appear approved, but that you may do that which is good and that we may be as reprobates.

That you may be blameless and sincere children of God, without reproof, in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation: among whom you shine as lights in the world.

For many walk, of whom I have told you often (and now tell you weeping) that they are enemies of the cross of Christ:

For which things the wrath of God cometh upon the children of unbelief.
