  1. The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live for ever.

  2. Take not away my soul, O God, with the wicked: nor my life with bloody men:

  3. As a neighbour and as an own brother, so did I please: as one mourning and sorrowful so was I humbled.

  15. It is an honour for a man to separate himself from quarrels: but all fools are meddling with reproaches.

  16. By patience a prince shall be appeased, and a soft tongue shall break hardness.

  17. Corrupt men bring a city to ruin: but wise men turn away wrath.

  18. Oppression troubleth the wise, and shall destroy the strength of his heart.

  19. If the spirit of him that hath power, ascend upon thee, leave not thy place: because care will make the greatest sins to cease.

  20. But he shall judge the poor with justice, and shall reprove with equity the meek of the earth: and he shall strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he shall slay the wicked.

  21. And the meek shall increase their joy in the Lord, and the poor men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.
