  18. He that hateth me hateth my Father also.

  19. If I had not done among them the works that no other man hath done, they would not have sin: but now they have both seen and hated both me and my Father.

  20. But that the word may be fulfilled which is written in their law: they hated me without cause.

  21. Because that, when they knew God, they have not glorified him as God or given thanks: but became vain in their thoughts. And their foolish heart was darkened.

  22. For, professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.

  23. For the wisdom of the flesh is death: but the wisdom of the spirit is life and peace.

  24. Because the wisdom of the flesh is an enemy to God. For it is not subject to the law of God: neither can it be.

  25. And they who are in the flesh cannot please God.
