  1. He hath not dealt with us according to our sins: nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.

  14. I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor.

  15. The LORD upholdeth all that fall, and raiseth up all those that be bowed down.

  16. Who hath placed peace in thy borders: and filleth thee with the fat of corn.

  17. My son, reject not the correction of the Lord: and do not faint when thou art chastised by him:

  18. For whom the Lord loveth, he chastiseth: and as a father in the son he pleaseth himself.

  19. For the sins of the lips ruin draweth nigh to the evil man: but the just shall escape out of distress.

  20. He that despiseth the poor, reproacheth his maker: and he that rejoiceth at another man's ruin, shall not be unpunished.

  21. If thou lose hope, being weary in the day of distress, thy strength shall be diminished.

  22. I turned myself to other things, and I saw the oppressions that are done under the sun, and the tears of the innocent, and they had no comforter; and they were not able to resist their violence, being destitute of help from any.

  23. A good name is better than precious ointments: and the day of death than the day of one's birth.

  24. It is better to go to the house of mourning, than to the house of feasting: for in that we are put in mind of the end of all, and the living thinketh what is to come.

  25. And there shall be a tabernacle for a shade in the daytime from the heat, and for a security and covert from the whirlwind, and from rain.
