"I herewith issue a decree that everywhere in my kingdom, people are to tremble and be in awe of the God of Dani'el. "For he is the living God; he endures forever. His kingdom will never be destroyed; his rulership will last till the end.
"So, everyone who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a sensible man who built his house on bedrock.
The rain fell, the rivers flooded, the winds blew and beat against that house, but it didn't collapse, because its foundation was on rock.
Some fell on rock; and after it sprouted, it dried up from lack of moisture.
The ones on rock are those who, when they hear the word, accept it with joy; but these have no root -- they go on trusting for awhile; but when a time of testing comes, they apostatize.
“Shim‘on, Shim‘on, listen! The Adversary demanded to have you people for himself, to sift you like wheat!
But I prayed for you, Shim‘on, that your trust might not fail. And you, once you have turned back in repentance, strengthen your brothers!”
So Yeshua said to the Judeans who had trusted him, “If you obey what I say, then you are really my talmidim,
Stay united with me, as I will with you — for just as the branch can’t put forth fruit by itself apart from the vine, so you can’t bear fruit apart from me.
Unless a person remains united with me, he is thrown away like a branch and dries up. Such branches are gathered and thrown into the fire, where they are burned up.
They continued faithfully in the teaching of the emissaries, in fellowship, in breaking bread and in the prayers.
On arriving and seeing for himself the grace of God at work, he was glad; and he encouraged them all to remain true to the Lord with their whole hearts;
When the synagogue meeting broke up, many of the born Jews and devout proselytes followed Sha’ul and Bar-Nabba, who spoke with them and urged them to keep holding fast to the love and kindness of God.
strengthening the talmidim, encouraging them to remain true to the faith, and reminding them that it is through many hardships that we must enter the Kingdom of God.
Who will separate us from the love of the Messiah? Trouble? Hardship? Persecution? Hunger? Poverty? Danger? War?
As the Tanakh puts it, “For your sake we are being put to death all day long, we are considered sheep to be slaughtered.”
No, in all these things we are superconquerors, through the one who has loved us.
Now, brothers, I must remind you of the Good News which I proclaimed to you, and which you received, and on which you have taken your stand,
So, my dear brothers, stand firm and immovable, always doing the Lord’s work as vigorously as you can, knowing that united with the Lord your efforts are not in vain.
Stay alert, stand firm in the faith, behave like a mentsh, grow strong.
What the Messiah has freed us for is freedom! Therefore, stand firm, and don’t let yourselves be tied up again to a yoke of slavery.
Only conduct your lives in a way worthy of the Good News of the Messiah; so that whether I come and see you or I hear about you from a distance, you stand firm, united in spirit, fighting with one accord for the faith of the Good News,
So, my brothers, whom I love and long for, my joy and my crown, my dear friends, keep standing firm in union with the Lord.
For although I am away from you physically, I am with you in spirit, rejoicing as I see the disciplined and resolute firmness of your trust in the Messiah.
Remain deeply rooted in him; continue being built up in him and confirmed in your trust, the way you were taught, so that you overflow in thanksgiving.
