  1. So that his life abhorreth bread, And his soul dainty food.

  14. And thou hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy; Thou hast set my feet in a large place.

  15. But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I afflicted my soul with fasting; And my prayer returned into mine own bosom.

  16. Jehovah will support him upon the couch of languishing: Thou makest all his bed in his sickness.

  17. For he will deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, And from the deadly pestilence.

  18. He will cover thee with his pinions, And under his wings shalt thou take refuge: His truth is a shield and a buckler.

  19. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night, Nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

  20. For the pestilence that walketh in darkness, Nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

  21. A thousand shall fall at thy side, And ten thousand at thy right hand; Butit shall not come nigh thee.

  22. Bless Jehovah, O my soul; And all that is within me, blesshis holy name.

  23. Bless Jehovah, O my soul, And forget not all his benefits:

  24. Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; Who healeth all thy diseases;

  25. Fools because of their transgression, And because of their iniquities, are afflicted.
