  1. who also sealed us, and gave the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

  9. unto the perfecting of the saints, for a work of ministration, for a building up of the body of the Christ,

  10. till we may all come to the unity of the faith and of the recognition of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to a measure of stature of the fulness of the Christ,

  11. and, being true in love, we may increase to Him in all things, who is the head--the Christ;

  12. from whom the whole body, being fitly joined together and united, through the supply of every joint, according to the working in the measure of each single part, the increase of the body doth make for the building up of itself in love.

  13. become not, then, partakers with them,

  14. for ye were once darkness, and now light in the Lord; as children of light walk ye,

  15. for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, and righteousness, and truth,

  16. The husbands! love your own wives, as also the Christ did love the assembly, and did give himself for it,

  17. that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it with the bathing of the water in the saying,

  18. that he might present it to himself the assembly in glory, not having spot or wrinkle, or any of such things, but that it may be holy and unblemished;

  19. in whom also ye were circumcised with a circumcision not made with hands, in the putting off of the body of the sins of the flesh in the circumcision of the Christ,

  20. As to the rest, then, brethren, we request you, and call upon you in the Lord Jesus, as ye did receive from us how it behoveth you to walk and to please God, that ye may abound the more,

  21. for this is the will of God--your sanctification; that ye abstain from the whoredom,

  22. that each of you know his own vessel to possess in sanctification and honour,

  23. and the God of the peace Himself sanctify you wholly, and may your whole spirit, and soul, and body, be preserved unblameably in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ;

  24. And we--we ought to give thanks to God always for you, brethren, beloved by the Lord, that God did choose you from the beginning to salvation, in sanctification of the Spirit, and belief of the truth,

  25. to which He did call you through our good news, to the acquiring of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ;
