  1. and God doth commend His own love to us, that, in our being still sinners, Christ did die for us;

  2. But, not as the offence so also is the free gift; for if by the offence of the one the many did die, much more did the grace of God, and the free gift in grace of the one man Jesus Christ, abound to the many;

  3. and not as through one who did sin is the free gift, for the judgment indeed is of one to condemnation, but the gift is of many offences to a declaration of `Righteous,'

  4. for if by the offence of the one the death did reign through the one, much more those, who the abundance of the grace and of the free gift of the righteousness are receiving, in life shall reign through the one--Jesus Christ.

  5. So, then, as through one offence to all men it is to condemnation, so also through one declaration of `Righteous' it is to all men to justification of life;

  6. for as through the disobedience of the one man, the many were constituted sinners: so also through the obedience of the one, shall the many be constituted righteous.

  7. And law came in, that the offence might abound, and where the sin did abound, the grace did overabound,

  8. that even as the sin did reign in the death, so also the grace may reign, through righteousness, to life age-during, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

  9. And not only so , but also Rebecca, having conceived by one--Isaac our father--

  10. (for they being not yet born, neither having done anything good or evil, that the purpose of God, according to choice, might remain; not of works, but of Him who is calling,) it was said to her--

  11. `The greater shall serve the less;'

  12. according as it hath been written, `Jacob I did love, and Esau I did hate.'

  13. What, then, shall we say? unrighteousness is with God? let it not be!

  14. for to Moses He saith, `I will do kindness to whom I do kindness, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion;'

  15. so, then--not of him who is willing, nor of him who is running, but of God who is doing kindness:

  16. So then also in the present time a remnant according to the choice of grace there hath been;

  17. and if by grace, no more of works, otherwise the grace becometh no more grace; and if of works, it is no more grace, otherwise the work is no more work.

  18. I give thanks to my God always concerning you for the grace of God that was given to you in Christ Jesus,

  19. that in every thing ye were enriched in him, in all discourse and all knowledge,

  20. according as the testimony of the Christ was confirmed in you,

  21. so that ye are not behind in any gift, waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ,

  22. who also shall confirm you unto the end--unblamable in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ;

  23. and when God was well pleased--having separated me from the womb of my mother, and having called me through His grace--

  24. to reveal His Son in me, that I might proclaim him good news among the nations, immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood,

  25. having foreordained us to the adoption of sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,
