Bible Verses About Mercy

With the merciful you will show yourself merciful. With the perfect man you will show yourself perfect.

The king of Israel said to Elisha, when he saw them, “My father, shall I strike them? Shall I strike them?”

He answered, “You shall not strike them. Would you strike those whom you have taken captive with your sword and with your bow? Set bread and water before them, that they may eat and drink, and go to their master.”

The merciful man does good to his own soul, but he who is cruel troubles his own flesh.

A righteous man respects the life of his animal, but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.

He who despises his neighbor sins, but blessed is he who has pity on the poor.

Don’t they go astray who plot evil? But love and faithfulness belong to those who plan good.

He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for his Maker, but he who is kind to the needy honors him.

Love and faithfulness keep the king safe. His throne is sustained by love.

He who follows after righteousness and kindness finds life, righteousness, and honor.

The righteous perishes, and no man lays it to heart; and merciful men are taken away, no one considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil.

Therefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable to you, and break off your sins by righteousness, and your iniquities by showing mercy to the poor; if there may be a lengthening of your tranquility.

Hear the LORD’s word, you children of Israel; for the LORD has a charge against the inhabitants of the land: “Indeed there is no truth, nor goodness, nor knowledge of God in the land.

Therefore the land will mourn, and everyone who dwells therein will waste away. all living things in her, even the animals of the field and the birds of the sky; yes, the fish of the sea also die.

Therefore turn to your God. Keep kindness and justice, and wait continually for your God.

He has shown you, O man, what is good. What does the LORD require of you, but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?

“Thus has the LORD of Hosts spoken, saying, ‘Execute true judgment, and show kindness and compassion every man to his brother.

Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
