  1. Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the evening. He lifted up his eyes, and saw, and, behold, there were camels coming.

  2. This scroll of the Torah shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success.

  10. Behold, these are the wicked. Being always at ease, they increase in riches.

  11. Surely in vain I have cleansed my heart, and washed my hands in innocence,

  12. For all day long have I been plagued, and punished every morning.

  13. If I had said, “I will speak thus”; behold, I would have betrayed the generation of your children.

  14. When I tried to understand this, it was too painful for me;

  15. Until I entered God’s sanctuary, and considered their latter end.

  16. Surely you set them in slippery places. You throw them down to destruction.

  17. How they are suddenly destroyed! They are completely swept away with terrors.

  18. As a dream when one wakes up, so, Lord, when you awake, you will despise their fantasies.

  19. For my soul was grieved. I was embittered in my heart.

  20. I was so senseless and ignorant. I was a brute beast before you.

  21. Then I thought, “I will appeal to this: the years of the right hand of the Most High.”

  22. I will remember the LORD’s deeds; for I will remember your wonders of old.

  23. I will also meditate on all your work, and consider your doings.

  24. Let your meditation be sweet to him. I will rejoice in the LORD.

  25. I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.
