  1. For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.

  2. (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever.

  10. For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

  11. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

  12. Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

  13. Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

  14. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

  15. In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

  16. Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

  17. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

  18. Not of works, lest any man should boast.

  19. And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

  20. (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)

  21. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

  22. Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

  23. ¶ Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

  24. And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God.

  25. For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;
