  1. ¶ And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is.

  2. And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass.

  3. Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?

  4. And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

  5. ¶ And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.

  6. And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst.

  7. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

  8. And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:

  9. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:

  10. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.

  11. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

  12. These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.

  13. These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;

  14. And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

  15. And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

  16. And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

  17. ¶ And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.

  18. And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.

  19. And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand.

  20. And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.

  21. And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.

  22. ¶ The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.

  23. And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood;

  24. And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.

  25. And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;
