  1. Frowardness is in his heart, he deviseth mischief continually; he soweth discord.

  2. Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; suddenly shall he be broken without remedy.

  3. These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:

  4. An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,

  5. A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

  6. ¶ Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:

  7. Lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.

  8. For the terrible one is brought to nought, and the scorner is consumed, and all that watch for iniquity are cut off:

  9. That make a man an offender for a word, and lay a snare for him that reproveth in the gate, and turn aside the just for a thing of nought.

  10. None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.

  11. They hatch cockatrice' eggs, and weave the spider's web: he that eateth of their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out into a viper.

  12. Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall they cover themselves with their works: their works are works of iniquity, and the act of violence is in their hands.

  13. Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths.

  14. Even the sea monsters draw out the breast, they give suck to their young ones: the daughter of my people is become cruel, like the ostriches in the wilderness.

  15. The tongue of the sucking child cleaveth to the roof of his mouth for thirst: the young children ask bread, and no man breaketh it unto them.

  16. For thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast clapped thine hands, and stamped with the feet, and rejoiced in heart with all thy despite against the land of Israel;

  17. Behold, therefore I will stretch out mine hand upon thee, and will deliver thee for a spoil to the heathen; and I will cut thee off from the people, and I will cause thee to perish out of the countries: I will destroy thee; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD.

  18. Son of man, because that Tyrus hath said against Jerusalem, Aha, she is broken that was the gates of the people: she is turned unto me: I shall be replenished, now she is laid waste:

  19. Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Tyrus, and will cause many nations to come up against thee, as the sea causeth his waves to come up.

  20. Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.

  21. Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God.

  22. ¶ Then these presidents and princes assembled together to the king, and said thus unto him, King Darius, live for ever.

  23. All the presidents of the kingdom, the governors, and the princes, the counsellors, and the captains, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to make a firm decree, that whosoever shall ask a petition of any God or man for thirty days, save of thee, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions.

  24. Now, O king, establish the decree, and sign the writing, that it be not changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.

  25. Wherefore king Darius signed the writing and the decree.
